Deciding What to Wear
Step 1 - Assess Your Personal Style
- What types of clothing do you wear most often and/or do you feel best in?
- What types of clothing do you avoid and/or would never wear? Why?
- What is your personal style, cultural norms, religious beliefs, gender identity and gender expression?

Step 2 - Consider What to Wear
- What image or characteristics do you want to project that will help you remain competitive?
- What are the norms of the industry/profession/company?
- What is the work environment like? What type of work will you be engaged in?
- For networking events, what type of event will you be attending? Where and when is it?
Step 3 - Decide What to Wear
- Conduct research about the organization to learn more about the work culture and daily attire.
- Research will help you make an informed decision to ensure you Dress to Impress.
- Keep in mind that you are better off being slightly overdressed than underdressed, but also feeling comfortable which is extremely important
- The attire does not need to be expensive, however it should be neat, clean, and well put together.
- Do not be afraid of colour; however, we do encourage you to consider what a specific color may say about your personality.
