Attendance Policy

The Career Centre has an attendance policy in place to ensure that all students who want access to Career Centre appointments have the opportunity to access these services.

Cancellations

If you are unable to attend your Career Counselling appointment, please provide 24 hours' notice of cancellation. This courtesy allows other students, who may be looking for available slots, to book appointments.

No Show: If you do not show up for your appointment or if you cancel after 9 AM on the day of the appointment, you will receive a "No Show" notice. If you are a "No Show" for three appointments, the Experience York system will block you from booking any further 1:1 appointments for the remainder of the term.

Lateness: Individual appointments begin promptly at their scheduled time. If you arrive late for your designated appointment time, you will be given the remainder of your appointment time only.

Workshops

The content and/or interactive nature of certain webinars require that they are delivered within the specified time frame without interruptions. Students who come late will miss out on some of the key learning objectives. In order to reduce interruptions for the participants and the facilitator, and to ensure that you experience the maximum benefit, you are asked to come on time.

Cancellations for Workshops, Events and other!

If you need to cancel your attendance for a webinar, employer recruitment session, information session or Career Conversations panel event, please do as as soon as possible so that your space can become available for another student.

If you have any questions or concerns about the Career Centre's attendance policy, please contact the Career Centre at career@yorku.ca.
