About Cooksville Care Centre
Home to 157 long term care residents, Cooksville Care Centre maintains a cozy, home-like environment in the Heart of Mississauga. We pride ourselves on providing outstanding, compassionate care to our residents and paying close attention to their individual needs. We are able to enhance residents’ quality of life by meeting their physical, emotional and spiritual needs through excellent care and specialty programs including Java Music Club and Montessori.
The Home also has a separate 35-bed Restore Unit which supports short-term stays until residents are strong and independent enough to return to their homes. Cooksville has launched a Transitional Care Unit as well, with approximately 30 beds which provides an alternative discharge destination for residents unable to remain in their current environment.

Volunteer Services strive to provide quality volunteer programs that service to enhance the quality of lie of the residents, while providing meaningful volunteer placements.
As a Volunteer or Placement Student, you will work closely with the Programs Department to help coordinate and facilitate programs, special events, social activities and restorative programs, leading to increased socialization, engagement and well-being for residents. Tasks are matched according to your strengths and interests and you will have the opportunity to work with residents on a one on one basis or in group settings. We are committed to providing meaningful and rewarding opportunities for our volunteers, providing training and ongoing support for each volunteer role!
