Want to meet York Alumni and other professionals who are putting their degree to use in a variety of fields?
Connect with professionals currently enjoying careers in a variety of settings and get the inside scoop on what it’s really like to work in these fields. During this panel professionals will share their personal stories about breaking into their field, how their career paths took them from graduation to where they are now, what knowledge, skills and experience helped them succeed in their jobs and what types of opportunities are available in their field. The panel will be moderated by one of the Career Centre’s team members and followed by an open forum where students will have an opportunity to ask the panelists their own questions.

I lead the data science practice at Adastra Corporation where, since 2016, I have been responsible for developing and growing the team. I oversee artificial intelligence and machine learning projects and direct Adastra’s exploration of emerging technologies and topics, allowing for insight-driven and innovative client solutions. I aim to emulate Adastra’s values of honesty and transparency with our clients to continually align their expectations with our results.

As our population ages, more and more R&D go into taking care of the people. As a statistician in clinical trials, we help companies design and evaluate studies so we can efficiently use the resources available. Being able to use what I learned in school to advance science feels great.

Here I am 10 years later wrapping up my PhD in Statistics and just started my own optimization and analytics team.
