University of Detroit Mercy School of Law - Canadian & American Dual JD Program
Detroit Mercy Law and the University of Windsor Faculty of Law collaborated to create the Canadian & American Dual JD Program, a unique dual Canadian and American law degree program. This is the only comparative program of its kind in Canada or the United States in which students can earn two law degrees in only three years. Graduates of the program are eligible to be licensed in both the United States and Canada.
Students in the program attend class at both institutions, study both American and Canadian law, and experience two different legal cultures. Graduates of the program have been highly successful and work in a variety of settings—from major international law firms in Toronto and New York, to immigration firms in Detroit and Windsor, to nonprofits combatting human trafficking.
