Recreation Services Recreation Services offer a variety of programs, camps, fitness memberships and free community events that promote health, wellness and active living for all ages and abilities. With 10 community centres that feature swimming pools, fitness centres, arenas, plus a community theatre and an award-winning 9 hole golf course and ski hill, there is something for everyone of all ages, abilities and interests. Recreation Services plays an important role in delivering the City’s mission of service excellence as it relates to supporting and promoting arts, culture and sports in the community. Core business areas include registered recreation programs, swim lessons and aquatic leadership courses, and fitness memberships. Pay-as-you-go recreational swimming, aquafitness, skating, shinny hockey, sports and fitness classes, plus free community events such as concerts in the park. 60+ summer day camps at over a dozen city-operated recreation facilities, as well as permitted satellite locations. Summer camps range from basic to premium and are categorized by area of interest such as creative, culinary, performing & education/language arts, fitness, health & wellness, sports, science & technology.
