The Aphasia and Communication Disabilities program is a program that helps increase self-confidence, independence and improve quality of life of adults living with aphasia and acquired communication disabilities as a result of stroke, brain injury or illness. Our volunteers and students assist adults with aphasia and acquired communication disabilities in group and recreational settings, by learning and applying supportive communication techniques. With guidance and support from Speech-Language Pathologists and Communicative Disorders Assistants, volunteers provide clients with opportunities to engage in conversation, creative communication, meaningful activities and increase life participation.
