Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind (CGDB) is a national, non-profit, charitable organization founded in 1984 to provide Canadians with greater mobility and independence through the use of professionally trained guide dogs. Volunteers are required to home, raise and teach obedience and socialization skills to puppies for a 12-18 month commitment.

Skills: The role of a puppy raiser requires someone with a fondness of dogs. You must be reliable, caring, and the ability to provide a loving home. The position entails taking the dog to school and nearly everywhere you go, socializing the pup in the community. You must be willing to make a one-year commitment.
