Alzheimer Society of Toronto

The role of the Alzheimer Society of Toronto is to offer support, information and education to people with dementia, their families and their caregivers, to increase public awareness of dementia, to promote research, and to advocate for services that respect the dignity of the individual. Recruiting for: Program Support, Walk for Memories Event, Memory Ball Gala Event, Administration Support, Marketing, Simulation Program Support & Communications Assistant and the Music Project Program

Skills: This is program specific but in general, we look for people who enjoy working with others, are comfortable initiating conversation and including others. People who are patient, friendly and fun; comfortable in a non-competitive, inclusive environment. Ideally, some experience communicating with older adults

How to prepare: All applicants will be required to submit a volunteer application, attend an in-person interview and provide two references to be contacted by the Manager of Volunteer Services. Applicants must also agree to a background check (background checks not required for all positions).
