I started volunteering at the museum as a way to make use of my Zoology degree when I was stuck working an office job, but I soon learned just how incredible a teaching tool the museum was. After years of working up through the ranks as a gallery facilitator, I decided it was time to go one step further and go back to school for a teaching degree. After a year abroad teaching in England, I am back at the ROM as a museum teacher and loving every second of it. Using the museum and its collections is an incredible way to inspire a sense of wonder and discovery in children as they learn, and give them the context to connect what they are learning to the larger world around them.
