During this panel, professionals will share their personal stories about breaking into the field, how their career paths took them from graduation to where they are now, what knowledge, skills and experience helped them succeed in their jobs and what types of opportunities are available in the field. The panel will be moderated by one of the Career Centre’s team members and followed by an open forum where students will have an opportunity to ask the panelists their own questions.

As a passionate Human Resources Professional, I have gained and learned cutting edge HR best practices and latest trends by acquiring Masters of Human Resource Management from York University and more importantly using & leveraging this knowledge and experience while working at Royal Bank of Canada. I have also gained international banking experience which is including but not limited to working for retail banking, credit and international human resources. In my last 11 years with RBC, I have been working and managing teams in Canadian Personal and Commercial Banking, Recruitment, Employee Relations and at Technology and Operation (Human Resources). In my current role, I am managing a team of HR Consultants by empowering them to provide advice, counsel and information to people managers (including Executives) and HR Business Partners to assist them in resolving a wide range of complex employee issues and concerns. I enable RBC’s managers/leaders to maintain a cultural of integrity, high performance and high engagement while collaborating with business partners to identify relevant factors (including risks) and options in order to make fully informed, valued-based decisions. I continuously demonstrate commitment to coaching and developing in order to create & maintain an efficient, high performing and service-focused team.
