Connect with professionals and find out how their marketing backgrounds helped them to get where they are now. During this panel, professionals will share their personal career stories about breaking into their field, how their career paths took them from graduation to where they are now, what knowledge, skills and experience helped them succeed in their jobs and what types of opportunities are available. The panel will be moderated by one of the Career Centre's team members and followed by an open forum where students will have an opportunity to ask the panelists their own questions.

Bobby joined Publicis in 2008, to work with the Rogers team, to help turn one of Canada’s largest enterprises into a strong and consistent brand across all mediums. Today, Bobby leads the Coca Cola Canada business, as well as the Chrysler Canada team. Bobby truly believes in the “media-neutral” approach, by always looking for ways to deliver integrated communication strategies. A strong believer in a “collaborative” team, and a passion for creative - Bobby loves every opportunity to crack a business challenge and lead a team to victory. Bobby’s previous experiences also include: Business lead on Toyota Canada, Suzuki Canada, Prime Restaurants, and Flow (a division of Columbus communications).

To me there's nothing more exciting than a buzzer beater, overtime goal, or watching a child learn valuable life lessons through their love for sports. For those reasons and countless others I've always known that I wanted to pursue a career in the sports marketing industry. I'm currently a member of Scotiabank's Hockey Sponsorship team, managing all digital and social marketing initiatives pertaining to our extensive hockey sponsorship portfolio - Which includes our NHL partnership, NHL team partnerships, and our community hockey programs.

The reason I love marketing is the same reason I climbed Kilimanjaro in 2017; I find big adventure in taking on new challenges. Throughout my 10+ year career at Bank of Montreal, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce and Bell Canada I have always created impact through building creative strategies, roadmap planning, and leading talented teams. I thrive on variety and results; throw any objective at me and I will become determined to find a solution. Joining BMO in 2013 to drive $1.9B+ in Wealth Management acquisitions, I currently manage the Student and New Canadian segments, growing insights on how they purchase and consume Personal and Commercial products. Intellectual curiosity has lead me to pursue my MBA part-time. As a certified yoga instructor I maintain calm resilience on the mat and recharge with friends and family.

While studying marketing in undergrad, I would have never anticipated having a career in the construction industry. After seven years working for one of the world’s largest construction material and services providers, I can say I’m happy it happened this way. Working on interdisciplinary teams to solve broad and complex challenges means no two days are quite the same, a fact that makes each day exciting.
